Holiday Jubilee at Black Image Center
In 2023, The Black Image Center launched a fundraising campaign in hopes of fundraising enough money to be able to keep their space, keep their lights on, and continue the amazing programming they offer to the community in Los Angeles.
After hearing this news, Red Eye worked and partnered with The Black Image Center to throw a fundraising event that would allow them to have a beautiful holiday celebration at the end of 2023, and allow them to keep all of the proceeds from the event day.
Red Eye was able to connect BIC with their named sponsors, Youth to the People and Topo Chico USA and help raise over $4000 for the space through event ticket sales, a silent auction, and vendor donations.
The Challenge
The Black Image Center serves as a cultural hub for black and brown artists, photographers and LA creatives. The founders Maya, Kalena and Simone truly know how to curate fine art into an approachable space built around creativity, community, learning and mutual support. In the wake of the murder of Geroge Floyd, Black Image Center saw an influx of support and resources streaming down large corporations, private donors, and more. With Covid-19 resources being retracted from small business in the years since, the Center was in need of community support to maintain their space.
The Solution
Red eye helped create a fun festive afternoon - to - evening event featuring a family friendly first half with a black santa and outdoor games. Leading to an older transition opening a curated bar and a live jazz performance. The night featured some amazing dj’s truly celebrating the work and energy black image center has curated.
The Impact
Through a silent auction, tickets, bar and more we raised the black image center over 5,000 dollars supporting their efforts and contributing to the momentum which lead to a blossoming 2024. The LA community of all ages got to experience the center at it’s core leaving festive and joyous memories for all.
